SteffeyDev LLC, DBA Own Your Cyber Space ("OYCS," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share your personal information when you use our website, products, and services, including our hosted Iolite instances, the backend APIs used by self-hosted Iolite server, and our online store (collectively, the "Services"). By accessing or using our Services, you agree to the collection and use of your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to this Privacy Policy, please do not access or use our Services.

Information collected when you visit our website

  • When you visit our website, our servers automatically log the standard data provided by your web browser. It may include your computer's or router's Internet Protocol (IP) address, your browser type and version, the pages you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on each page, and other details.
  • The number, locations, and device preferences of people who visit our website may be used internally for marketing and strategy. It will be deleted periodically, at our discretion.

Information collected when you use our support chat

When you start a conversation using our support chat on oycs.com, ownyourcyberspace.com, or in your Iolite dashboard, our privately-hosted chat server will collect the name and contact information you provide when starting the chat. All messages and files sent to us will be stored and made available to our customer service representatives so that we can assist you.

Information collected when you create an account on our website

  • When you sign up, we collect and store all information that you enter into the sign-up form.
  • If you order a product that requires shipping, we will share your name, contact information, and address with shipping carriers and our fulfillment partners so that they can deliver your orders.
  • Your credit card or bank information, which you enter into a Stripe-hosted form during sign up, is stored on Stripe's services in accordance with Stripe's privacy policy, and is linked to the information that we store via a random, unique identifier.

Information collected when you use our hosted Iolite service

Only applies if you DO NOT self-host Iolite, but instead use a server that we own and operate

  • All data you enter into or upload to your Iolite organization is stored on the server your organization is hosted on, and a copy of that data is stored on a second backup server. If your Iolite organization is deleted, all data will be deleted from both servers within 90 days. You may request the deletion of your Iolite organization at any time, and we will always honor that request.
  • We may view the list of users, apps, and domains in your Iolite organization at any time, e.g. so that we can route support requests and bill accordingly. We WILL NOT access the data you enter into your apps, unless you explicitly grant permission for us to do so, for example so our customer service personnel can assist you.

Information sent by your Iolite server

Only applies if you self-host Iolite

  • During setup, your Iolite server will send a random code to our server so that it will be linked to your account.
  • When your Iolite server is running, it accesses our servers at least once a day to download various assets and updates. Each time your Iolite server contacts our servers, the IP address and device information is logged on our servers.
  • When your Iolite server is running, it will periodically send a list of the names of the apps you are running to our servers. We will use this information to charge you for installing paid apps and to help us determine which apps are the most popular.
  • If your are using our offsite backup service, your Iolite server will send an encrypted backup payload once a day. Those payloads remain encrypted, and are stored on our servers for 90 days.
  • If you are using our mail relay service (the default behavior if you are using the Mail app), all outgoing emails are sent first to our servers before being forwarded to the intended recipients. We do not store the contents of these emails. We may scan them to detect malware or spam emails, and store various metrics about the number of emails you send, so that we can prevent spammers from using our forwarding service.

Children's privacy

Our Services are not intended for children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
